Hong Kong's continued position as the region's premier city will be enduring in the coming 21st century.

Having an ideal geographic location in East Asia, excellent transportation and telecommunications infrastructure; status as a free port; low tax regime, trusted legal system and maximum support and minimum intervention's policy has made Hong Kong a regional headquarters and a center of business in Asia for the next century.

The SAR will continue to play a pivotal role in the future of the broader Asia-Pacific region and is unlikely to be unseated by regional rivals such as Taiwan or Singapore.

Shifting from trading and manufacturing industries, Hong Kong will pay more effort in the financial, high-technology and services areas in future.

Domestic market expansion, favorable economic outlook, low cost of labor, improving infrastructure and the improving regulatory environment will attract more and more investment in China, Hong Kong's economic future is guaranteed with China's continued growth and prosperity.

With its future indivisible from China, Hong Kong will continue to be a thriving center in its own right, with a strong international flavor and presence and role to play in the region as a whole.
