Touching Down

The new modern Hong Kong International Airport is situated at Chep Lak Kok. It is about 20 kilometres west of Kowloon and Hong Kong Island on Lantau Island. There are many means of transport available for you to travel to and from the airport.

The Ground Transportation Centre (GTC) which is directly alongside the passenger terminal, houses the Airport Express station, taxi ranks, and stations for franchised bus, tour coaches, hotel courtesy buses and limousines.

Airport Express

It is the fastest and most convenient means of transport. It has 4 stations namely Hong Kong, Kowloon, Tsing Yi and the Airport. City check-in services are available at Hong Kong Station at Central and Kowloon at Western Reclamation Area. Travelling time by Airport Express to Central is 23 minutes while to Kowloon is 20 minutes

MTR Tung Chung Line

It has the similar stations as Airport Express but it has stops at Tung Chung, Lai King and Olympic at Tai Kok Tsui. Since this line does not stop at the airport, fares are much lower than that of Airport Express and you need to connect with S-numbered shuttle buses from Tung Chung MTR Station

Hotel transport

Shuttle buses and limousines leaving at 15-20 minute intervals are available to bring you to hotels in Central, Admiralty, Wanchai and Tsim Sha Tsui upon using the Airport Express Shuttle buses can be found in the central area of GTC, at 'ground level'.

Public Buses

Citybus Ltd. and Long Win Bus Co Ltd. operate air-conditioned bus services to the airport and to Tung Chung New Town. These include airbus services, and external and overnight services to and from the urban areas and the New Territories.
Buses with letter "E" will go to either Lantau or Chek Lap Kok and will stop at the airport terminal. This is the cheapest means of transport for travelling to and from the airport.
While buses with letter "A" will go straightly to the new airport and there are 50 coaches from Citybus running on 4 airport routes.

High-Speed Ferry

It provides services running from Tuen Mun to Chek Lap Kok Ferry Pier. There are "S"-numbered shuttle buses bring you to and from the airport.

Taxi

Urban (Red) taxis can drive you to the airport. It costs around HK$200 to travel from the airport to Kowloon while around HK$300 to Central.

New Territories (green) taxis can drive you between the airport's GTC and certain districts in the New Territories.

Lantau (Blue) cabs serve the whole of Lantau Island, including Tung Chung Road and all areas of the airport.
